Team Members Clean Up Highway in Waikoloa
Our dedicated team at Waikoloa participated in their quarterly highway clean up event on June 24. About 40 Team Members volunteered to clean both sides of Queen Ka'ahumanu Highway, the main highway fronting the Waikoloa resorts. Volunteers walked a two-mile stretch, picking up trash and unwanted debris to make a positive impact on the environment and keep the area presentable for guests.
"The breeze made it a lot more comfortable along the lava embankments of the highway and helped to get the cleanup done faster," said Robert Ishihara, General Manager at Kings' Land. "Their actions reflect the outstanding commitment by our HGV Waikoloa team to keep our 'aina clear of trash and keeping the arrival experience great to the resort."
As part of HGV Serve's goals to wholeheartedly serve and malama our communities, leaders in Waikoloa initiated the collaboration with State of Hawaii's Adopt a Highway campaign that encourages keeping Hawaii clean by picking up litter along Hawaii's highways. The program promotes environmentally conscious decisions about our aina (land).
