Waikoloa Team Helps Build a Home in Kawaihae

A Kawaihae ohana is one step closer to living in their new home thanks to Team Members on Hawai'i Island, and our on-going HGV Serves partnership with Habitat for Humanity. As part of the eight-hour workday, volunteers from various HGV properties in Waikoloa assisted homebuilders with interior and exterior tasks, including painting.

"We are grateful for the opportunity to partner with Habitat for Humanity and provide a new home for a deserving ohana," said Robert Ishihara, General Manager of Kings' Land. "Living our HILTON values is what our team does everyday, whether it be serving guests or our neighbors in the community we live."

The new home is being built for a single-mom and Hawaii Island Resident, whose dream was to provide a stable home for her children.

"It will be great not having to keep moving from house to house because of high rent increases or owners wanting to move back in," said the new homeowner. "My children will be stable and will always know that they have a home."

As part of our HGV Serves partnership with Habitat for Humanity, at HGV we are helping people feel at home while improve housing stability and homelessness. HGV is grateful for all the Team Members who have taken part in these kinds of significant events that connect our HILTON values to the local communities we live, work and vacation.

Our HGV Serves efforts were featured on Hawaii News Now and KITV4.
